In 1991 Pastor Dave took over a prayer group of 5 members. The church continued to grow and moved to a room in the local YMCA for meetings. Outgrowing the YMCA, the church then expanded to a store front on Country Club Drive and in 2003 moved to this current location.
Pastor Dave graduated from Calvary Chapel Bible College in California in 1985. He and his wife, Carla, have 4 beautiful children.

HISTORY OF CALVARY CHAPEL Costa Mesa

Calvary Chapel is a non-denominational Christian church which began in 1965 in Costa Mesa, California. Calvary Chapel’s pastor, Chuck Smith became a leading figure in what has become known as the “Jesus Movement.”

It has been estimated that in a two-year period in the mid ’70s, Calvary Chapel of Costa Mesa had performed well over eight thousand baptisms. During that same period, the Costa Mesa church was instrumental in 20,000 conversions to the Christian faith. The decadal growth rate had been calculated by church growth experts to be near the ten thousand percent level.
